Armada builds compact, modular data center infrastructure designed to be deployed directly in remote or otherwise underserved locations, including military forward operating bases, oil and gas extraction sites, and other environments requiring an additional layer of physical security and control, or that lack reliable connections to conventional data center capacity and power grid infrastructure, addressing a market segment that traditional large, centralized data centers built by major cloud providers are poorly suited to serve given their fixed locations and dependence on established power grid and network connectivity. Armada's portable AI infrastructure lets organizations run AI computing and other data processing workloads close to where the underlying data is generated or where connectivity and security requirements make dependence on remote, centrally located cloud data centers impractical, a use case with particular relevance for military and government customers operating in contested or infrastructure-poor environments, alongside commercial customers in industries like energy extraction that similarly often operate in remote locations far from established data center and grid infrastructure. The company raised a $230 million Series B round in May 2026 at a reported $2 billion valuation, an oversubscribed round that gave Armada capital to scale deployment of its modular AI data centers, and secured Johnson Controls as a strategic manufacturing partner, an agreement that established dedicated manufacturing capacity for Armada's infrastructure in Arizona, reflecting the company's ambition to scale physical production of its modular data center units considerably beyond what it could achieve manufacturing independently. Armada was highlighted as an Honorable Mention in Augment's Power 20 pre-IPO rankings in both the first and second quarters of 2026, reflecting growing investor and market attention to its position at the intersection of edge computing, defense infrastructure, and the broader AI infrastructure buildout.
