Array was founded in 2020 by Martin Toha and Phillip Zedalis with the goal of making it easy for banks, credit unions, and other digital brands to embed consumer-facing financial wellness features, such as credit score monitoring, full credit reports from all three major bureaus, credit-building tools, and identity and privacy protection, directly into their own existing apps and websites under their own brand, rather than each financial institution needing to build these features from scratch or send customers to a separate third-party app to access them. Array's platform provides these capabilities as embeddable, white-labeled modules and APIs that its financial institution and fintech clients can integrate into their existing digital banking experiences, giving end consumers a more complete, one-stop view of their financial health without leaving their primary banking app. The company's offerings have grown to include credit simulation tools that let consumers model the impact of financial decisions on their credit score, debt management and payment-timing tools, and privacy protection features that scan the web for a person's exposed personal information and help have it removed. Array has grown in part through acquisitions, including buying EarnUp, a company focused on aligning loan and bill payments with a consumer's pay cycle to reduce missed payments, MoneyKit for financial data connectivity, and Penny Finance for financial education tools, each adding to its embeddable product suite. Array's customer base spans regional and community banks, credit unions, and digital banking platform providers such as Alkami, who in turn offer Array's tools to their own bank and credit union clients. The company has raised venture funding from investors including Battery Ventures, General Catalyst, and Nyca Partners, and competes with other embedded credit and identity protection providers in the growing financial wellness technology category.
